Birth Order and Academic Achievement: Separating Myth from Evidence in a Sample of 500 University Students

Abstract

This thesis revisits the popular claim that firstborn children outperform later-born siblings academically. Using a self-administered survey and GPA data from 500 undergraduates, it controls for family size, socioeconomic status, and parenting style to test whether birth order retains independent predictive power.
